Rising in Love
Preacher: Rev. Jane Simmons | Series: Easter | What happens when the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox – namely Easter – coincides with April Fool’s Day? Rev. Jane explores this question on Sunday with her talk, entitled Rising in Love.
The story of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection has great personal significance for each one of us. Easter symbolizes the celebration of new life rising up after a period of dormancy. We see it in the flowers peeking through the earth in the spring from bulbs living underground all winter long. In our own lives, the dark times can be the catalyst to help us grow beyond our yesterday selves into a greater expression of who we have come here to be.
The joyful and exciting message of the Easter story is that Good Friday doesn’t last forever. No matter what kind of crucifixion experience we may be going through, each one of us has the power to rise through the power of Divine Love and experience the resurrecting glory of the healing Presence of God within us.
