The Search Project, Check In

To date, you have donated $1,650 to our Commit to Life, Search Project! Proceeds raised from this project will help offset the costs of hiring a new minister for our Spiritual Center.   These costs could involve travel, accommodations and relocation expenses.

Hiring a new minister is an involved process, and we are thankful for your financial, emotional and spiritual support. We’re also thankful for our Search Committee, which is leading the Search effort. Presently they are half-way through the process and are calling applicants’ references.

Our Commit to Life series culminates at the end of the October. If you would like to make a contribution to the Search Project, you can donate at our spiritual center (envelopes located at three different Search lanterns: entry, platform, atrium) or by calling 838-6518. You can also talk to Terri Lewis-Sander about donating miles from your mileage plan to help with travel expenses.

Your contributions help make this process a reality!

New to Unity

Sept 18, 2014

Meet Claire. Claire Hart is new to Unity Spiritual Center. She moved to Spokane from Renton, WA in April, and she’s a native of New Jersey. She has four children, four grandchildren & three great-grandchildren. Claire has been a Unity member since 1975.

She likes quality and being challenged which has led her to sewing, crocheting and knitting. Claire has even sewn her own lined and tailored suits, though now she is experimenting more with quilting.

During this chapter of her life, Claire is “looking forward to going with the flow of life. God is going to put me in the right direction to serve Him,” she shared. Claire loves “sermons that inspire you, lift you up and get you ready for Monday morning.” She will miss Rev. David’s positive energy and hopes that our new minister has a similar energy, someone who will “touch the heart and spirit.” After being in Spokane for just a few months, Claire still misses her Unity community from Renton and is hoping to find her Unity family here.

Celebrating Rev. David’s Birthday

Sept 16, 2014

Thanks to The Trues and Tara Wear for planning a wonderful birthday celebration for Rev. David. We filled his basket with jokes and well wishes, though Mary was the mastermind behind the styrofoam joke cake. Good fun with good friends! Let’s do it again next year.
