 5 Basic Unity Principles

*There is only one Presence and one Power active as the universe and as my life, God the Good.
*Our essence is of God; therefore, we are inherently good.  This God essence, called the Christ, was fully expressed in Jesus.
*We are co-creators with God, creating reality through thoughts held in mind.
*Through affirmative prayer and meditation, we align our heart-mind with God.
*Through the daily practice of these principles, we live the Truth we know.

About Unity Spokane

We are a 91 year old congregation with a diverse history in Spokane. We have a rich spiritual community offering metaphysical study, prayerful support and a deep belief that "change begins within the individual." Laughter and joy permeates all of our endeavors in our church family. If you are looking for a spiritual home and feel that it is your own responsibility within a loving community to build a better life and world, then check us out through our many programs and services.

Everyone is Welcome!

Even if you are not sure about your spiritual path there are classes, workshops, meditations, prayer, spiritual food (we really love our food), bi-annual home study groups, retreats, music, play, dancing, ceremony,  kid's plays, adult plays, and just about anything you might think to find where people come together to nurture each other's journey through a joyful spiritual life.

Many different paths just ONE story

Our church is nestled within a few acres of beautifully landscaped greenery including a serene prayer garden complete with a fountain and small pond. Inside the church you will find an atrium that accents the entire main floor with light and nature. We have a children's wing, a chapel, a library, and a kitchen and reception area as well as a huge sanctuary and a diverse bookstore.

The Unity Movement

The Unity movement was founded by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore. After Myrtle Fillmore's remarkable healing utilizing prayer and affirmations, many who were seeking help became interested in how she accomplished this healing. From small prayer circles in living rooms, Unity grew. The first issue of Unity Magazine was published in 1889. The teaching of the practice of prayer, through classes and correspondence, led to the establishment of Unity School, where the prayer ministry, Silent Unity, began, along with Unity School for Religious Studies, and a publishing arm for magazines and books. These services still exist today, under the name Unity®.

In 1965, the Association of Unity Churches was formed by ministers and churches for the purpose of focusing on establishing new churches, supporting existing ones, ordaining ministers and licensing teachers. Today, Unity is a worldwide movement of about 1,000 churches and groups supporting individuals on their own unique spiritual journey.
